Gymnast of the Week: Lily McFarland (WCU)
Graduate student Lily McFarland of West Chester University capped off her regular-season collegiate career with a stellar performance, earning GEC Gymnast of the Week honors. The highlight of her meet was a career-high 9.9 on floor exercise, securing first place and contributing to her team's season-high score of 49.175. She also dominated on beam, winning the event with a 9.8, and delivered a solid vault performance, scoring 9.525 for seventh place. With her best season yet, McFarland continues to shine, and her team couldn't be prouder of her accomplishments.
Co-Specialists of the Week: Emily Ford (Brown) & Caroline Cascadden (WCU)
Brown’s Emily Ford and West Chester’s Caroline Cascadden were named GEC Co-Specialists of the Week, each earning the honor for the second time this season after excellent performances. Both gymnasts delivered impressive routines that helped their teams achieve milestone scores in their final regular-season meets.
Emily Ford delivered a stellar performance on beam, scoring a 9.900 for the third time in her career, tying her own mark for second-best in Brown history. Her first-place routine helped Brown achieve a 49.050 on beam, which also tied for the second-best team score in program history. Ford now holds the second-best NQS on beam in the GEC, solidifying her status as one of the top beam performers in the conference.
Caroline Cascadden capped off her final regular-season meet with her best performance of the year. She was solid on beam, scoring a 9.7 to finish tied for fourth place, but truly excelled on floor, where she posted a season-high 9.875 to tie for second place. Her outstanding floor routine helped West Chester achieve its season-high floor score of 49.175. Cascadden’s strong showing was a fitting way to close out her regular-season career.
Newcomer of the Week: Manama Fofana (Penn)
Penn's Manama Fofana earned GEC Newcomer of the Week honors for the fourth time this season and the second week in a row after an outstanding performance across three events. She tied her career high on floor with a 9.850, finishing third, while also scoring 9.775 on vault and 9.750 on beam. Her efforts helped Penn achieve the sixth-best vault score (48.925) and seventh-best overall score (195.625) in program history. Fofana posted the top vault, beam, and floor scores among GEC freshmen this week, with her floor routine ranking third among all GEC gymnasts.
